Croix-Rouge monégasque (Monaco Red Cross)
Monaco's national Red Cross society: social assistance, first-aid training, a crèche and international relief — with addresses, department phone numbers and opening hours.
The Croix-Rouge monégasque is Monaco's own national Red Cross society, created on 3 March 1948 by Prince Louis II and recognised the same year by the International Committee of the Red Cross. It is not a branch of the ICRC: it is one of the 191 national societies of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, autonomous and Monegasque, applying the Movement's seven fundamental principles — humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, universality.
H.S.H. Prince Albert II has presided over it since 17 December 1982, following Prince Rainier III (1949–1958) and Princess Grace (1958–1982). Princess Charlène is Vice-President.

What it actually does in Monaco
Social assistance. The Service Social supports residents in financial or personal difficulty — the association's most-used service locally, and the one to contact first if you are unsure which door to knock on.
First-aid training. The Centre de formation runs the Principality's civil first-aid courses, open to residents and employees, and the Secourisme civil teams provide first-aid cover at Monegasque events.
Crèche-Garderie Rosine Sanmori. The association runs its own nursery at 26 quai Jean-Charles Rey, MC 98000 Monaco (+377 97 97 33 77), in Fontvieille — a useful addition to the options set out in the guide to childcare in Monaco.
Health and prevention. Awareness and prevention programmes, including mental-health sensitisation.
International relief. The Section Humanitaire Internationale runs Monaco's own overseas operations and contributes to Movement-wide responses.
Volunteering and donating
Volunteering is organised through the sections above — first aid, youth and social action each recruit separately. Donations go through the association directly; the accounts department handles receipts.
Once a year, the association's fundraising comes to a head at the Gala de la Croix-Rouge monégasque, held in July at the Salle des Étoiles. Supporting the association does not require a gala ticket — direct donation and volunteering are open year-round.
Not the emergency number
The Croix-Rouge monégasque is not the service to call in an emergency. In Monaco, dial 112 or 18 for the fire and rescue service and 17 for the police; there is no 15. See emergency numbers in Monaco.
