Monaco's hotel pools are among the most photographed in Europe, and a handful of them genuinely sell access to people who are not staying in the hotel. This guide covers those — what the pool actually is, when it opens in 2026, what a day costs and how to book — and is honest about the ones that remain guests-only. Monte-Carlo Beach: the Olympic pool
The Monte-Carlo Beach is Société des Bains de Mer's 1929 seaside hotel at the far end of avenue Princesse Grace — technically over the border in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, but part of the Monaco resort in every practical sense. Its 50-metre Olympic pool is filled with seawater drawn directly from the bay, ozone-filtered and heated to 28 °C, with a depth running from 0.80 m to 3.50 m and two diving boards; a separate children's pool takes under-3s. Sun loungers, double daybeds and cabanas line the deck and a pool bar serves through the day.
For 2026 the pool is open from 13 April to 11 October to hotel guests, to guests of the other SBM hotels and to day visitors. SBM's 2026 tariff prices a pool sunbed at €120 a day in late April, €200 on weekdays in May–June and September–October, €260 at June weekends and €360 in July–August (children 6–12 half price, under-6s free); reservations on +377 98 06 52 46. Monte-Carlo Bay: the lagoon
The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, at 40 avenue Princesse Grace on the Larvotto peninsula, has the pool Monaco has no equivalent of anywhere else: a sand-bottomed lagoon winding through a tropical garden, with a direct opening onto the sea and an indoor-outdoor pool alongside for cooler days.
Day passes are sold to non-residents of the hotel for the 2026 season, 14 May to 30 September, 09:00–19:00 in May, June and September and 08:00–20:00 in July and August:

Under-3s are free. The pass includes access to the changing rooms and a bottle of mineral water; the private "VIP corners" for up to twelve people are rented separately from around €800 a day on top of the entry fee. Fairmont Monte-Carlo: the rooftop
The Fairmont Monte-Carlo, on the Grand Prix hairpin that carries its name, has its outdoor pool on the seventh-floor terrace, heated to 28 °C and open all year round, with the Mediterranean on one side and the Casino on the other. From spring to early October the terrace becomes Nikki Beach Monte-Carlo — a pool club with loungers, restaurant and DJs — and that is the route for non-guests: reserve a lounger or a table directly with Nikki Beach. Outside the Nikki Beach season the pool serves hotel guests and clients of the La Vallée spa on the same floor (details).
Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo: the indoor seawater pool
The one luxury pool open every day of the year to outside visitors is indoors. The Thermes Marins, 2 avenue de Monte-Carlo, sit between the Hôtel de Paris and the Hôtel Hermitage with internal passages to both, and their heated seawater pool looks out over the port from a glass-walled hall. Day access to the wellness area — pool, sauna, hammam, whirlpool and gym — costs €160 (lunch not included) and runs 07:00 to 21:00; treatments are booked separately. Phone +377 98 06 69 00. Guests-only pools worth knowing about
- Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo — the "Odyssey" pool and lounge designed by Karl Lagerfeld is reserved for hotel guests; the Spa Métropole by Givenchy next to it takes outside bookings for treatments.
- Le Méridien Beach Plaza — the only Monaco hotel with its own private beach also has indoor and outdoor pools for its guests (listing).
- Hôtel de Paris and Hôtel Hermitage — neither has a pool of its own; guests use the Thermes Marins, and in season the Monte-Carlo Beach.
When the public pools are the better choice
Paying €160 for a pool day makes sense for the setting — the lagoon, the rooftop, the 1929 lido — not for the swimming. If the swimming is the point:
- The Stade Nautique Rainier III on Port Hercule is itself a 50-metre heated seawater pool with 1, 3 and 5-metre boards and a 45-metre slide, open 1 May to 7 October 2026 for €12 (€6 for residents, free for resident over-60s).
- The Centre Nautique Prince Albert II at the Stade Louis II is a proper indoor Olympic pool at €3.20, open all year except a few weeks in summer.
- The Piscine Saint-Charles in Monte-Carlo, renovated in 2026, is a warm 18-metre pool for €5 with evening and Sunday-morning hours.
