Monaco Wifi in brief
Monaco Wifi is the Principality's free outdoor WiFi network, run by Monaco Telecom on behalf of the Government. It has more than 70 hotspots — roughly one every 200 metres — so in the busy parts of Monaco you are rarely far from one.
Where the hotspots are
Most are in the bus shelters fitted with digital screens. The others cover the places people gather:
- Place du Casino and Place du Palais
- Port Hercule
- The Jardin Exotique and the Oceanographic Museum
- In front of the Tourist Office
- Post offices

How to connect
- Select the Monaco Wifi network.
- The sign-in page opens in your browser.
- Identify yourself with Monaco Telecom customer credentials, a social-media account or the short form.
There is no time limit once you are connected, but the login lasts only for the day: the next day you sign in again. The network is built for maps, messages and email rather than video streaming or large downloads.
As on any open network, avoid banking or entering passwords on sites without HTTPS, and use a VPN for anything sensitive.
Other ways to stay connected
- Your own mobile plan: Monaco is not in the European Union, so EU "roam like at home" rules do not automatically apply. Many European operators include Monaco anyway; others bill it as a non-EU destination. Check before arriving, and turn data roaming off if in doubt — near the border your phone may also switch to a French network.
- A Monaco Telecom plan: Monaco has a single mobile network. Its plans and the two shops (27 boulevard des Moulins and 9 rue du Gabian) are covered in the mobile plans guide.
- Cafés, hotels and restaurants: most offer WiFi to customers.
5G covers the whole territory and has done since 9 July 2019, when Monaco became the first country fully covered.
