Monaco's multi-service resident card — public transport, parking, sports facilities, libraries and cultural discounts on a single card.
The MonaPass card
MonaPass is the multi-service card of the Principality of Monaco, designed for residents and used to access a wide range of public services and everyday benefits. Far more than a transport pass, MonaPass is a practical, all-in-one tool for daily life in the Principality.
Public transport
MonaPass gives access to Monaco's public transport network operated by the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco (CAM):
- Bus — the CAM network serves the whole territory with six regular lines. MonaPass lets you validate a journey without buying a ticket. Residents benefit from preferential fares; under-26s and seniors aged 65 and over travel free of charge.
- Bateau-bus — the harbour shuttle links Port Hercule to the Quai des États-Unis (Fontvieille), offering a quick and pleasant way to cross the port. Access is included with MonaPass.
The single-trip fare on CAM buses is currently around €1.50; MonaPass holders can also load weekly, monthly or annual subscriptions onto the card.
Municipal services
Beyond transport, MonaPass opens access to a wide range of municipal services:
- Public parking — the card can be used to pay in car parks operated by the Société des Parkings de Monaco, with preferential rates for residents.
- Sports facilities — reduced-rate access to the municipal swimming pools, sports halls and athletic facilities of the Principality.
- Médiathèque and libraries — MonaPass acts as a library card for borrowing at the Monaco Médiathèque.
- Cultural activities — discounts on selected exhibitions, performances and cultural events in the Principality.
How to obtain your MonaPass
The MonaPass card is issued free of charge to residents of Monaco on presentation of proof of address and a valid ID. Applications are made:
- at the Mairie de Monaco (dedicated counter)
- at certain Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco service points
The card is nominative and personal. If lost or stolen, a replacement can be requested at the same counters.
Top-up and management
MonaPass can be topped up with travel credit at the ticket machines at major bus stops, online, or at the Mairie. Monthly and annual transport subscriptions are loaded directly onto the card, making everyday use of public transport straightforward.
