Monaco's position on the French Riviera, backed by the Maritime Alps and facing the open Mediterranean, creates striking sunset conditions. The Rock of Monaco (Le Rocher)

The fortified promontory of Monaco-Ville is the most iconic sunset spot. From the terrace near the Prince's Palace (Place du Palais), you get an unobstructed westward view across Port Hercule and Fontvieille. • Summer (June–July): Sunset as late as 21:15, with long golden-hour conditions from around 20:00.
• Winter (December–January): Sunset around 17:00, with shorter but often dramatic light due to lower cloud angles.
