Is there a Monaco Boat Show? Monaco's marine events explained

There is no "Monaco Boat Show"

It is one of the most common search terms about the Principality, and no event answers to it. Monaco does not run a general boat show in the sense that Düsseldorf, Southampton or Genoa do — there is no hall of trailerable cruisers and outboard engines, no consumer stands, no low-cost family day ticket.

What Monaco has instead is a small number of highly specialised marine events, each aimed at a different audience. Nearly everyone typing "Monaco Boat Show" wants the first one on this list.

Monaco Yacht Show — 23–26 September 2026

The Principality's flagship marine event and the superyacht industry's central fixture, held at Port Hercule since 1991. Around 120 superyachts and more than 560 exhibitors; the 2026 edition is the 35th.

It is a trade show with luxury pricing, not a public spectacle: a Wednesday pass is 400 €, a full day 700 €, and going aboard a yacht requires an appointment granted by the exhibitor. Full detail in the Monaco Yacht Show guide and the tickets and access guide.

Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous — 20–21 September 2026

Two days at the Yacht Club de Monaco, immediately before the Yacht Show, bringing together around 250 professionals from the marina, yachting and eco-technology sectors. The sixth edition covers marina investment, biodiversity, decarbonisation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and closes on Monday 21 September with the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Awards.

This is a professional conference rather than a visitor attraction — worth knowing about because it explains why the Yacht Club is busy before the show opens, and because it is where Monaco's stated ambition in sustainable yachting is actually argued out.

Monaco Energy Boat Challenge — July

An international competition for boats running entirely on solar, electric and other zero-emission propulsion, hosted by the Yacht Club de Monaco in July. Teams come mainly from universities and engineering schools, and the racing takes place in the harbour itself.

It is free to watch and by some distance the most accessible of Monaco's marine events — the opposite end of the spectrum from the Yacht Show in cost, tone and crowd. See the event page.

Monaco Classic Week — biennial, next 8–11 September 2027

Every second year the Yacht Club de Monaco fills the harbour with classic sailing yachts, period motor yachts, vintage powerboats — including a large Riva fleet — and the traditional Dinghy 12' class. The quayside Village is free and open to all, with exhibitors, artisans and displays, and the regattas can be watched from the harbour front.

For a visitor who wants beautiful boats without a four-figure ticket, this is the one to plan around. The next edition runs 8–11 September 2027; there is no 2026 edition.

Year-round: the Yacht Club de Monaco calendar

Outside these fixtures the Yacht Club de Monaco, in its Norman Foster clubhouse on Quai Louis II, runs a regatta and sailing programme through the year, including winter racing in the bay. The clubhouse itself is a members' club rather than a public venue — see the Yacht Club de Monaco guide.

Elsewhere on the coast

If you are in the region in September and the Yacht Show's pricing is not for you, the Cannes Yachting Festival earlier in the month is a genuinely public boat show with a broader range of vessels and conventional ticket prices, about two hours west along the coast.
