New National Museum of Monaco
Contemporary art museum with Villa Paloma and Villa Sauber, showcasing modern and contemporary collections

The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco is a dual-campus institution comprising two historic villas: Villa Paloma and Villa Sauber. Together they form a premier contemporary art museum showcasing masterworks of modern and contemporary art, with particular emphasis on Mediterranean artistic traditions and international movements from the 20th century to present day.
Villa Paloma and Villa Sauber
Villa Paloma, located on Boulevard du Jardin Exotique, houses rotating exhibitions of contemporary art and modern collections. Villa Sauber, situated near Jardin de Fontvieille, complements this programming with additional galleries and exhibition space. Both villas retain their original architectural charm while providing state-of-the-art museum facilities. The dual-venue model allows simultaneous exhibitions exploring different artistic periods and themes.
Collections and Exhibitions
The museum maintains a significant permanent collection of 20th and 21st-century artworks, including paintings, sculpture, photography, and installation art. Rotating exhibitions bring international contemporary art to Monaco's audiences. The collection emphasises artists with ties to the Mediterranean region, including those who worked in Monaco or the surrounding French Riviera.
Educational and Cultural Programming
The museum offers guided tours, artist talks, conservation workshops, and educational seminars for students and adults. Special events, symposia, and collaborative exhibitions with international museums enhance the cultural calendar. The museum also supports emerging artists and curatorial research through its programming initiatives.
Access and Admission
The museum is open to the public with reasonable admission fees and free entry for children and students. Annual memberships and group rates are available. The museum provides accessibility facilities and multilingual interpretation to serve Monaco's diverse visitor population.
