Larvotto
Monaco's beach quarter along the eastern coastline, with the renovated Larvotto beach and seaside promenade

Larvotto occupies Monaco's eastern shoreline and is defined by its beach and seaside character. It is the only part of the Principality with a public beach, making it a focal point for leisure during the warmer months.
Key landmarks
Larvotto Beach, extensively renovated and reopened in 2022, features a modern promenade, playgrounds and improved accessibility. The Grimaldi Forum, Monaco's conference and cultural centre, hosts major exhibitions, concerts and events year-round. Nearby, the serene Japanese Garden offers a meditative escape with its koi ponds and traditional landscaping.
The Sporting Monte-Carlo, a legendary summer venue, stages gala concerts and the Sporting Summer Festival. The eastern end of the promenade provides views towards the Italian border at Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.
Access and daily life
The district is served by bus lines 5 and 6. A seafront walkway connects it to Monte-Carlo in one direction and towards Le Portier in the other. The Grimaldi Forum car park is available for drivers.
Larvotto is a sought-after residential area, popular with families who appreciate the proximity to the beach, the Japanese Garden and the relatively quiet streets. The neighbourhood has a distinctly relaxed feel compared with Monte-Carlo, while still being within easy walking distance of the centre.
