Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo: Complete Guide
Everything you need to know about Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo — rooms, Michelin-starred restaurants, Guerlain spa, Karl Lagerfeld pool, and booking information.

Overview
Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo is one of Monaco's most distinguished palace-classified five-star hotels, located at 4 Avenue de la Madone in the heart of Monte-Carlo. Built in 1886 in Belle Epoque style, the hotel has been meticulously maintained and renovated over the decades. It reopened in May 2025 after a five-month closure for the first phase of a major renovation. The 45 rooms and suites on the second and third floors, redesigned by Jacques Garcia, are now fully operational. The phased renovation continues floor by floor, with additional levels being updated through 2026. It is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
The hotel offers 125 rooms and suites, two Michelin-starred restaurants, a Guerlain spa, and a celebrated pool area designed by Karl Lagerfeld. It sits steps from the Casino de Monte-Carlo, the Hotel de Paris, and the Promenade Monte-Carlo shopping district.
Restaurants
Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac
The hotel's flagship restaurant holds two Michelin stars. Chef Christophe Cussac, a former disciple of Joel Robuchon, delivers refined Mediterranean cuisine in an elegant setting. Open Thursday to Monday for dinner from 19:30.
Yoshi
Monaco's only Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant (one star since 2010). Yoshi offers contemporary Japanese cuisine in a space designed by Didier Gomez, combining precision in preparation with premium seasonal ingredients.
Odyssey
The poolside restaurant and lounge bar serves Mediterranean cuisine in the Karl Lagerfeld-designed pool area. The space transforms with the seasons — open-air in summer and enclosed in winter — creating a distinctive dining atmosphere throughout the year.
Spa Metropole by Guerlain
The spa features 10 treatment rooms including the Rose Cherie Suite and Suite Imperiale Duo, plus sauna, steam room, sensory shower, and fitness facilities. Three exclusive treatments — Monaco Glow, Puissance du Rocher, and Golden Sand — were created specifically for the hotel. The spa also includes a dedicated space by Bastien Gonzalez, the renowned hand and foot care specialist. Interiors by architect Didier Gomez.
The Karl Lagerfeld Pool
The heated seawater pool is surrounded by a 20-metre glass mural designed by Karl Lagerfeld, composed of 15 panels depicting the journey of Ulysses. The retractable hardtop structure allows year-round use, and furniture was also designed by Lagerfeld. The poolside area accommodates approximately 30 guests and provides one of the most distinctive leisure settings in Monaco.
