Monaco Heliport

The Monaco Heliport in Fontvieille provides the fastest connection between the Principality and Nice Cote d'Azur Airport (NCE). At just seven minutes in the air, the helicopter shuttle is a practical alternative to the 30-45 minute drive along the coast.

The helicopter shuttle

Operator

Monacair is the principal operator of the regular helicopter shuttle service. Flights depart every 15 to 30 minutes during peak hours, with reduced frequency in the early morning and late evening.

  • Monaco Heliport (Fontvieille) to Nice Airport Terminal 2
  • Flight time: approximately 7 minutes
  • Total journey time including check-in: around 20-30 minutes

Fares

One-way fares start from approximately 160 EUR per person for a standard shared flight. Private charter options are available at higher rates. Prices may vary by season and demand.

How to book

  • Online through the Monacair website (monacair.mc)
  • By phone or at the heliport counter
  • Through your hotel concierge (most Monaco hotels can arrange transfers)
  • Via travel agencies specialising in Monaco

At the heliport

The Monaco Heliport is located in Fontvieille, on the western side of the Principality near the Stade Louis II. Check-in is straightforward and much faster than a conventional airport. A shuttle bus connects the heliport to other parts of Monaco.

At Nice airport, the helipad is adjacent to Terminal 2, with a short walking transfer to the main terminal buildings.

When to use the helicopter

The helicopter is especially useful:

  • When traffic on the coastal road (A8/Basse Corniche) is heavy
  • During major events when roads around Monaco are congested
  • For tight connections at Nice airport
  • For a memorable arrival experience

Alternatives

If the helicopter does not suit your budget or schedule, the main alternatives are:

  • Train: Monaco to Nice-Ville station (approximately 20 minutes)
  • Express bus 110: Monaco to Nice airport (approximately 45 minutes)
  • Taxi or private car: 30-50 minutes depending on traffic
