Surete Publique
Direction de la Surete Publique: Monaco's national police force, responsible for public safety, border control and the issuance of residence permits (cartes de sejour).
The Surete Publique is Monaco's main law enforcement body. In addition to policing and maintaining public order, it plays a key administrative role as the authority that processes and issues residence permits. Anyone applying for a carte de sejour must deal with the Surete Publique, whose offices are located on rue Suffren-Reymond. The force also manages border controls and identity checks.
