National Council
The legislative body of the Principality of Monaco, composed of 24 members elected by direct universal suffrage by Monegasque citizens for a five-year term.
The National Council (Conseil National) exercises legislative power jointly with the Sovereign Prince. It votes on laws and the state budget. Only Monegasque citizens aged 18 and over may vote or stand for election. The Council meets at the National Council building on Place de la Visitation in Monaco-Ville.
