CCSS

Caisse de Compensation des Services Sociaux: the Monaco fund covering sickness, maternity, invalidity, death and family benefits — one of five funds under the Caisses Sociales de Monaco.

Caisse de Compensation des Services Sociaux. It is one of five funds grouped under the Caisses Sociales de Monaco (CSM) at 11 rue Louis Notari, and it is frequently — but wrongly — used as a name for the whole system. CCSS itself covers sickness, maternity, invalidity, death and family benefits for employees. Pensions belong to the CAR and, since 2024, the CMRC; the self-employed go through CAMTI and CARTI; work accidents are insured privately; and unemployment is the French scheme.

Employees and cross-border commuters working in Monaco are affiliated by their employer. The CCSS contribution — 13.40% of gross, 13.45% with the CGCS, up to a ceiling of €9,800 a month since 1 October 2025 — is paid entirely by the employer: employees contribute nothing to this branch.
