Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo: autumn–winter 2026
Roméo et Juliette at the Salle Garnier (29 October–1 November), Bronia & Altro Canto (19–21 December) and Ma Bayadère over New Year at the Grimaldi Forum.
Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, the Principality's resident company directed by Jean-Christophe Maillot, open their 2026–2027 Monaco season at the end of October. Three programmes fall between now and New Year, split between the Opéra's Salle Garnier and the Grimaldi Forum.
The programmes
Roméo et Juliette — 29 to 31 October (evenings) and 1 November (matinee), Salle Garnier, Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Maillot's best-known ballet, to Prokofiev, returns for the 30th anniversary of its 1996 creation. In a theatre of just over 500 seats, this is the run to book first.
Bronia & Altro Canto — 19 to 21 December, Salle des Princes, Grimaldi Forum. A double bill: Bronia, a tribute to the choreographer Bronislava Nijinska by Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo of the Kor'sia company, alongside Maillot's Altro Canto.
Ma Bayadère — 28 to 31 December and 2 January 2027, Salle des Princes, Grimaldi Forum. Maillot's reworking of La Bayadère, created in 2025 and brought back after its success, with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo conducted by Garrett Keast. The traditional way to see out the year in Monaco.
Tickets
Tickets are sold at the Grimaldi Forum box office, the Atrium of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo (Casino building) and online via balletsdemontecarlo.com and Monte-Carlo Ticket. The company offers reduced rates for under-25s and three- or five-show subscriptions across the season — the cheapest way into the Salle Garnier.
Practical notes
- Two venues, two neighbourhoods: the Salle Garnier is inside the Casino on Place du Casino; the Grimaldi Forum is ten minutes' walk away on avenue Princesse Grace, by Larvotto. CAM buses serve both.
- Same season: the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival takes over the Salle Garnier from 18 to 29 November, between the ballet runs. Everything else is in the autumn guide.
