The Stade Louis II is Monaco's principal sports venue, located in the Fontvieille district. Home to AS Monaco FC, the stadium has a capacity of approximately 18,500 and hosts Ligue 1 football matches, international athletics meetings, and other sporting events throughout the year. Built in 1985 and featuring a distinctive nine-arch design, the stadium complex also includes training facilities, an Olympic-size swimming pool, and multi-purpose sports halls. The Herculis athletics meeting, part of the Diamond League, is one of the stadium's marquee annual events.
