Villa Paloma is the second exhibition venue of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco (NMNM), inaugurated in 2010 after a careful renovation. Located at the entrance of Monaco near the Jardin Exotique, this elegant Belle Époque villa offers 520 square metres of exhibition space across three floors dedicated to contemporary art.
Exhibitions
The NMNM presents a rotating programme of contemporary art exhibitions that explore the dialogue between art, architecture, and the cultural heritage of the Mediterranean. Villa Paloma hosts ambitious temporary exhibitions that change regularly, often featuring internationally renowned artists and thematic explorations. The museum also draws on the NMNM's own growing collection of contemporary works.
Practical Information
The museum is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, with extended hours of 11:00 to 19:00 during July and August. It is closed on certain public holidays including 1 January, 1 May, Grand Prix days, 19 November, and 25 December. Visitors should check the official website for current admission prices and any temporary closures.
The NMNM
The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco operates two complementary venues: Villa Paloma in Moneghetti and Villa Sauber in Larvotto. Together they form Monaco's principal institution for contemporary art, offering a varied programme of exhibitions, events, and cultural activities throughout the year.
Getting There
Villa Paloma is located on Boulevard du Jardin Exotique, close to the Jardin Exotique and the Musée d'Anthropologie Préhistorique. It is accessible by bus (line 2) or on foot from the Moneghetti area.
